Desperado formed in Ithaca, NY circa 1975. We payed every club in Ithaca as often as we could, which meant all the time. Actually did a twelve-hour show at the Glenwood Pines for kicks. We did the local college circuit, opened for Orleans, Outlaws, Country Cooking, Aztec Two Step, Livingston Taylor, Commander Cody and Pure Prairie League. The above pic is from Pure Prairie show at Ithaca College spring, 1977. I'm playing banjo. PPL's tunes from that show are on their "Live!: Takng the Stage" album.
We did a vinyl album on an old eight track at CALF Audio in Newfield, NY with Walt Amey, Doug Robinson and Carol Lee
"Wooden Ships" from "Desperado" album, recorded at CALF Audio. "Grizzly Bear", "Walkin' One & Only", "Sugar Babe" recorded at Fingerlakes Recording, where I was a sometime studio bass player. Guitar on all, blues harp on "Sugar Babe", harmony vocals on all.
THAT...was just too much fun.
